Technology Lab: First Lego League Labs

CHF 300

Technology Lab
Girls are encouraged to innovate by learning a professional programming language, and starting their own creative tech journey in a series of 12, 2 hour workshops. With the support of motivated and inspiring university students, girls will learn fundamental programming skills and get a chance to apply them to real-life projects.

These sessions are geared towards girls aged 11-16, looking to acquire and practice new tech skills. Participants will also learn soft skills such as pitching ideas, business strategies and digital media marketing.

About First Lego League
Every year, FIRST LEGO League releases a Challenge, which is based on a real-world scientific topic. Each Challenge has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the Core Values. Teams of up to ten children, with at least two adult coaches, participate in the Challenge all over the world by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game), developing a solution to a problem they have identified (Project), all guided by the FIRST Core Values. Teams will then attend an official tournament, hosted by our FIRST LEGO League Partners.

Core Values

  • Discovery: We explore new skills and ideas.
  • Innovation: We use creativity and persistence to solve problems.
  • Impact: We apply what we learn to improve our world.
  • Inclusion: We respect each other and embrace our differences.
  • Teamwork: We are stronger when we work together.
  • Fun: We enjoy and celebrate what we do!

Lego Robotics Lab: Using Lego Educational sets, students will be able to interact with code to command the robots and see first-hand their code come to life. The main goal of this class is to be able physically interact with the code. The students will build robots to accomplish tasks in the First Lego League competition.
